I’m not really feeling any of the writing prompts posted for today, so I guess I will resort to Three Things This Thursday. Which is basically just me talking about three random things of my choosing. Ha. I think I do this meme most days anyway. :)

1) Tomorrow is May Day! I hope you all get May Day’ed! … Do they call it that? I have no idea. But you know, that day where someone comes and leaves flowers on your doorstop, rings the bell, then runs and hides! I think you’re supposed to find the person and give them a black eye, or something. But I might have that part wrong. I’m not the most well versed on the subject of May Day. But… do you know what else tomorrow is? It’s a girl named Julie’s birthday. Stop over to her blog tomorrow and wish her the best birthday she’s ever had!

2) I decided on an assignment for May. Apparently it’s National Photograph Month (among other things), so the assignment will be to do something involving a photograph (or photographs). That’s it! You could edit a photo, make a collage, make a new blog header using photos, put together a scrapbook page, build a custom photo frame… so many options! And probably things you’re doing anyway, so just be sure to leave me a comment linking to a post on your blog where you show it off! One lucky winner will receive a prize of my choosing, which may or may not have no monetary value. I’m sketchy that way. I don’t like to be tied down by expectations. But, you will like said prize. (That is… if you win it.)

3) This is my last April Nablopomo post. Thirty days in a row and it hardly felt like a chore! And because of that… I think I’m going to go ahead and sign up for May too. *shakes head* I know, I’m a freak. But you love me.

PS I recently rocked a new blog header for Sabby, and not nearly enough people have fallen all over themselves to exclaim on my awesomeness. Now is your chance to fix this. *bats eyelashes*

Heh. You think I’m going to blog about being drunk, or something. But I’m not!! I don’t really drink. Seriously! Like, I’m not anti-drinking necessarily, but it’s not really my idea of the best time ever. I can totally live without it.

Anyway. How do I always get sucked into those asides? Gawd. I recently (just yesterday) discovered something that probably a true Guns N Roses fan would have known all along. And that’s that Duff McKagan has a band called Loaded. That just recently released a new album. Which I purchased on itunes yesterday evening. Here is a video of one of the songs on it, No More. I like it! Good work Duff!!

That’s really all I wanted to say: Discovered it. Bought it. Here it is. I like it. The End. I could probably come up with something else to talk about, if pressed. I guess. – But I haven’t been pressed. Have I? But… okay. Since my awesome haiku post seemed to be a favorite, I guess I’ll give a limerick a shot. This is a true story:

I have laundry piled up to the ceiling,
dishes covered in grime – unappealing.
I don’t make the bed
(I sleep in instead),
my home has that not-so-fresh feeling.

You know what’s exciting? When you first realize the bird feeder you made is being used. By Birds. *high-five* I have been peeking out the living room window every couple days or so to see if it I can catch one on there. I haven’t yet (though the birds are always nearby) but finally (Sunday) the container was noticeably emptier! *high-five-again* And the next day (yesterday) even more so! Woot! *happy-dance* Those birdies love my seed. Heh. I’m going to have to refill ‘er up soon!

Speaking of my bird feeder… I want to do another “assignment” soon. I’m thinking on it. If you have any ideas let me know! I think I have one more to do to reach my 101 goal thing. I could be wrong, but I’m too lazy to double check how many I “signed up” for.

This has probably been the easiest NaBloPoMo I’ve attempted for some reason. I wonder if it’s related to the season at all? Whatever it is, it’s a good thing. And weird. It’s definitely also weird. Only two more days to go!

… Hey Jeff? Are you reading my blog? lol

Just now Jeff called me and asked me to look up “Crüe Fest 2” at the State Fair in September (that’s Motley Crue with Godsmack, Theory of a Deadman, Drowning Pool, and Charm City Devils). Of course he wants to go to the one thing I didn’t mention to him. I think he must be reading this so he decided to come up with something to show me up. Aren’t ya Jeff! Just leave a comment and say hi next time.

I don’t know if that means we’re going necessarily, depends on what we decide when we can actually talk about it later, and if there are tickets left to be purchased once we’re ready to buy them. What’s kind of cool is the concert is the day after our anniversary. I think we should go. :)

My husband is weird. I keep coming up with some fun things we could do – things he should love – and he shoots every idea down. For example… Metallica will be coming to Buffalo in November, and Jeff? Huge Metallica fan. So you’d think he’d maybe want to consider thinking about going, right? Apparently not. Ok, whatever.

Last night I heard on the news that Jeff Dunham will be coming to the State Fair in August. And Jeff? Loves Jeff Dunham. So you’d think he’d maybe want to consider thinking about going, right? Not so much. He’s “already seen all his stuff.” Oh. Well. My bad.

Sigh. Maybe I should just go without him.

Stolen from a facebook friend. :)

Tired of all of those surveys made up by high school kids? (no offense). Here’s questions for the people who are a little older… Copy and paste into your own note, then answer the questions. Finally, tag your friends including me, please!

2. Do you miss being a child? I miss some things about it, but no. I like being an adult for the most part.

11. What are your thoughts on gas prices? Umm, they should be lower?
12. First thought when the alarm went off this morning? It didn’t, because it’s Saturday.

34. Do you go to church? Nope.
35. How old are you? Twenty Eight. Which just seems fucking weird.

I tag everyone who sees this to do it also. And leave a comment so I know where to come see your answers. Happy freakishly warm (at least over here on the East Coast) Saturday!

Last year we went to Lake George for a couple days for a vacation. This year we aren’t really coming up with something we both agree on (not that we “agreed” last year, but Jeff wasn’t offering an alternative – so I won by default). I think we don’t really want to stay anywhere for any length of time, we both kinda want to be able to hang out at home this year. So… what we’re thinking is we might drive out to Taughannock Falls for a day, and probably spend just one night at a campground. Then we’ll spend the rest of our week just hanging out and doing fun things (like having fires in our fire bowl) at home. Sounds good, right?!

By now you know the drill… I picked a prompt from Mama Kat! Kind of. The prompt I chose is 2.) When is it okay not to listen to the words? Explain about a song you really love that has lame lyrics or lyrics you simply don’t understand. (writingfix.com) But, I guess I’m putting a spin on this, since I don’t think the lyrics are lame, and I “get” them. The lyrics aren’t why I like the song though, so I say it’s okay not to listen to the words. Which means… it counts.

So uhh… Maybe you don’t know this about me.

I like Guns N’ Roses. THERE! I said it. But… like, I LIKE Guns N’ Roses.

It’s all my step-brothers fault. He “discovered” them when we were in middle school. (Which means they’d been around.. oh you know. Like 10 years or so.) And he fell face-first in obsessed with them. He had posters on all his walls, tee shirts, cassettes (and eventually cd’s), he even had VHS tapes of “Making F@*!ing Videos!” (the November Rain, and Don’t Cry editions… which I just may have inherited… heh. Don’t tell anyone. I don’t want to get robbed or anything.)

I, being the seventh grade sheep that I was, kind of got caught up in his enthusiasm. Well, part that, and part it really is pretty good music. Anyway… I didn’t fall face-first in obsessed, but I certainly jumped feet-first onto the GNR bandwagon. We used to sit in his room and listen to whichever song was the favorite at the time – sometimes we drew our own renditions of the GNR logo(s) as we listened… You know the ones:

… and those would join the posters lining the walls of his room. Ahh, the memories. One of my favorite songs then is still one of my favorites today. But I don’t really give a crap what the song is “about”. You know? I just dig it. I’m not really that deep. You’ve probably noticed.

The video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YmwJpnor6o (It’s really long, but worth it.)

The lyrics: http://www.elyrics.net/read/g/guns-n_-roses-lyrics/estranged-lyrics.html

The song is basically about a relationship falling apart and now life’s pretty fucked up and tragic. So sad. But the song itself is pretty much beautiful to listen to, am I right?! It’s like a chocolate bar for your ears.

Oh, shut up. What do you know, anyway?! You were probably busy singing along to Ace of Base back then.

One of the blogs I read just led me back to that Wordle thing so I decided to give it another go… I like this one much better!

0409-wordle1

Why is this the best wordle ever? Because it says “Wii,”  “Rockstar,” “Fuck,” and “Bwahahahaha.” What more could a girl want?!

For comparison: my last wordle.

See also; a funny youtube cat video (that I found through lolcats).

Happy Hump Day! It’s also Earth Day you guys. So, like, be good to your Earth. And stuff.

It’s also Administrative Professional’s Day. So, like, be good to your nearest secretary/receptionist/etc. You should be good to them everyday though. Or I’ll tell your mother.

Why do they say “healthy as a horse” anyway? Horses get sick too. I once saw a horse rear up on it’s hind legs (out of frustration? I’m positive it was scared) and flop right straight over on it’s BACK (and it was also thisclose to landing on Susie, my mom’s friend!) when the farmer guys (Susie’s husband Richard, and … I’m not sure who was helping him. It was a long time ago! Maybe his father, or maybe even my father!) were trying to give it a shot; it’s medicine. Long story short, if it needed medicine it couldn’t have been all that healthy. And I bet it needed some extra medicine after the back flop it did too. I really doubt that is good for a horsey. I don’t remember any details about that whole experience besides what I just said, but I think that the horse was much sicker than they even knew, and… yeah. I think you know where I’m headed with this. I’m pretty sure that horsey wasn’t around very long after that. But maybe! Maybe he bounced right back and is at this very moment prancing around a pasture surrounded by his grandhorsies, telling them about the time those bastards tried to stick him with a needle and he showed THEM. Fuck with Mr. Horsey, why dontcha.
