After work tonight I was planning to stop at the post office to mail a couple international cards and pick up THREE books of stamps (which may not be enough. :faint: ! How many are in a book? I can never remember.) so I can mail the rest – but then I didn’t end up leaving work until 5:00 (partly because a caterer we used for a lunch today lost her wedding ring somewhere, so I was trying to back-track where I went with her to see if I could spot it. I didn’t. I hope a janitor finds it tonight, or maybe she accidentally left it at home?). I assumed that meant the Post Office would be closed. However it appeared to still be hopping when I drove by!
Yeah, I drove by. You caught that did you? I figure I’ll just stop there tomorrow now. I did stop at the store in town that my mother told me has “the best snowmen!” She can’t come up with anything she wants for Christman besides more snowmen. From this store. Which has soooo many snowmen – and they’re DIFFERENT snowmen! They don’t look like any snowmen she’s seen before!
Guess what that means… I can’t figure out which ones she would like! All the ones I saw that I thought she’d like I then second guessed myself because I thought she’d like them! Oy! That store really does have a shit ton of snowmen though! Holy crikey! It used to be an Ames department store long ago – and I worked there. One of my managers from back then works there now at this new store, and he was right out front when I walked in so he showed me every. single. snowman. in. the. store. I was entirely overwhelmed.
I did pick quite a few out (and I spent $72 on snowmen! Though not all of them were for my mom.) but I picked mostly small ornaments – because the larger snowmen were kind of expensive! I want to go back and pick another non-ornament for her, but I want to have Jeff come with me and help. I don’t want to drop $20+ on a single snowman that isn’t “different” from all her other snowmans. I think I know which one I want to get, there are quite a few that are made to look like they are made out of birch wood? (Like with the white bark? You know? They are called Birch Hearts Snowmen.) And I *think* the snowman with the little deer would be a good choice… but like I said. I need a second opinion. Snowman shopping is serious business!

This is the one I'm considering.
Of the smaller ornaments I got four were actually Smoresmen. One for my mom that has a “Let it Snow” sign. One for my step dad that has a helmet, jumpsuit, and racing flag. One for my father in law (who is a teacher) – holding a ruler that says “Teachers Rule!” And a football one for Jeff… Pictured below.

Jeffy's Football Smoresman.
I was going to give it to him for Christmas, but I decided it would be nicer to give it to him now so he could hang it on the tree. He says he likes it, and he did hang it. I wonder if he really cared though? Ahh well, the thought was there. Most of the ornaments we already have were given to me, or I picked, or… were otherwise somehow mine. So I decided to try and find some Jeff-like things. Football Smoresmen are definitely Jeff-like.
