Today is the first official day of Holidailies! Woo! (I’ve been marking the last 4 days posts as holidailies posts too though… we’ll just go ahead and consider them bonus posts.) And the first day of holidailies is always “introduce yourself” day! … I not too long ago updated my about page, so I’m going to send you there if you really want to learn the boring basics (like when I met Jeff, and when we adopted the furkids. Yawn.) – stay right here if you want to learn some of the more important things about me though. Like…

  • When I was little I was so shy that I’d barely speak to my own grandmother (whom I did see on a pretty regular basis).
  • I could never really climb trees. I could boost myself up into a tree with help (from a strategically placed saw horse usually), but then I wouldn’t make it more than a few branches up. And I’d get anxious thinking about how I was going to get back down.
  • I’m a big fan of ketchup. But, contrary to popular belief, I do not put it on everything! And PS Ketchup in Canada is different than it is here… they have the same brands, and yet their ketchup is sweeter. It’s kind of odd. (Granted I have not been to ALL of Canada… but it was definitely different at every restaurant we visited in Niagara Falls.)
  • I never really thought I was a cat person. I liked them just fine, but where I lived growing up cats didn’t seem to last long, so we gave up on having one. And so I never really bonded all that much with one. Now that we have Chewy though I’m pretty sure I will always want to have a cat. Sure they are evil, and their poop boxes are disgusting, but oh my god when they do want to be petted they kill you just a little with the sweetness. Purring is kind of the coolest invention ever. (I did always know I was a dog person though, now I am both!)
  • I’m not a good housekeeper – I just don’t care enough. I mean, we don’t live surrounded by mold and filth on a daily basis, but we do live surrounded by clutter on a close-enough-to-be-considered-daily basis. And also, we have pets. That haven’t figured out how to pick up after themselves yet, sadly.
  • When I was a teenybopper I would’ve chosen Guns N Roses over New Kids on the Block any day! But I will admit that I had a tape of theirs. My mom gave it to me because it was what the kids my age liked. I learned all the words and sang along, but pretty much because it was the only tape I really had. (PS My walkman had Bart Simpson on it! Awesome.)
  • I always wished my birthday were in the summer so I could have a cool birthday party. I still kind of wish that, it always seems to snow on my birthday (which January 23rd), and sometimes my friends ended up not being able to come to my party at all because of the snow. Other times it would work out though, and I did have more than one party where we went sledding. I wasn’t really traumatized, just a little jealous of the kids who got to have swimming parties.

I could keep going but this should really end at some point, eh? Here’s wishing you a happy holidailies!
