And there you have it! Thirty days of blogging – check! Damn I’m good. Congratulations to everyone else that made it through the month without missing a day. You rock!

So I think it’s safe to say I won my own prize for this month’s “assignment”. Who knew Chocolate Pudding Pie was prize worthy?! I wonder what I’ll send myself as my treat! I guess I’ll have to wait and see. I probably won’t bother with one for next month, it was a good idea but definitely a failed idea. It happens.

Today was a very lazy day. I slept in (and dreamt that we had a white leopard as a pet, her name was Isabelle and she escaped in my dream. I had to call 911 to report it, but I couldn’t dial the numbers right! Jeff says thats because our brains can’t do logic in our sleep, and I say he’s a nerd. He might be right, but he’s still a nerd. Anyway, I woke up sad that Izzy was gone. I loved that kitty!), I played online, I pretended to do some laundry (but really didn’t make any progress so far), and we just watched Journey to the Center of the Earth. Pardon me while I roll my eyes, but whoa. I’m going to need a really good Simpsons episode tonight to make me feel better about sitting through that one.

So far, anyway. I’m totally crossing my fingers and toes for a prize this year!

I just sent my request to be added to the December Nablo blogroll, and now I see Holidailies will be December 5th to January 6th… Oh well! I guess you’ll get more me this way.
As long as I remember to go back to the holidailies site to sign up.

Dear Interwebz,

Today I put up our new Christmas tree.

And Chewy helped.
Photobucket

It’s not decorated yet, but it’s up and it works! I give it two thumbs up.

Love,
Sarah

PS I will be signing up for Holidailies this year too… so even though tomorrow is the last day of Nablopomo – you won’t be getting rid of me!

You probably noticed that Chewy day is a day late this week… but I had a pudding pie “recipe” to deal with yesterday. Don’t worry, Chewy didn’t get the shaft! He just got delayed a day… and this might be the best Chewy day post so far! I absolutely love the last picture! I’ve decided that eventually I’ll make one of those photo books with all my new Dale & Chewy Day favorites. Why not, right? I’ve gotten some really adorable photos from stalking them around the house day after day!

I showed Chewy last week’s Chewy Day entry as soon as it was posted…

And he thought it was the funniest thing he’d ever seen!

This month’s “assignment” was to post a Thanksgiving-ish (or general Fall-ish) recipe. I planned to make pumpkin bread but then an awesome friend offered to send me some she had made – and so I decided to come up with something else for my assignment. The only things I really make for Thanksgiving are the brown and serve rolls (so basically I buy them, then put them in the oven for 10 minutes), and the chocolate pie. So here I present to you my detailed and illustrated recipe for chocolate pie:

Photobucket

Gather Your Ingredients: Milk, Pudding Mix, Graham Cracker Crust

Photobucket

Pour 2 cups of milk into a bowl.

Photobucket

Add pudding mix.

Photobucket

Mix using a wire whisk...

Photobucket

... for about 2 minutes.

Photobucket

Pour the mixture into the pie shell, and refrigerate until firm.

Photobucket

Serve with whipped cream (cool whip is an acceptable alternative).

Totally simple, totally delicious! And yes, I really did just show you how to make pudding. ;)

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving!

Today Jeff and I went to see Four Christmases. It’s pretty good! I have to tell you though that Jeff ruined it a little for me. Most of the movie is the couple going from parents house to parents house; since both sets of parents are divorced they have four Christmases to deal with. Well their families are pretty much crazy on top of that, and it gets pretty stressful. Jeff was getting WAY too involved with the movie and at one point was just hemming and hawwing and getting kind of visibly disturbed – which just completeley added to my OWN stress level! Finally I poked him and asked him to calm down because he was “kind of ruining it…” lol! Well… he was! And he laughed and tried to chill out. I’ll give him that.

After the movie we went to WalMart for just a couple things. Like our new Christmas tree! We got the one that’s in the black friday ad for $25, but we figured it wasn’t worth it to trek back on psycho day to save $10 and just dropped the full $35. So it is a 6.5 foot prelit (colored lights) tree! It’s a skinny tree, but it’ll be fine for us, especially for $35. Someday when we have our own house and more room we’ll get one of the bigger fatter trees we drooled over today.

While we were there I also grabbed one Christmas present – Apples to Apples Junior for one of my sisters’ kids. And we also bought Fred Claus and Elf! Woo! I love Christmas movies. And are you surprised we didn’t already have Elf? Jeff was too. Apparently the Grinch doesn’t hate Christmas as much as he likes to let people believe! Eventually I will have him dancing around the house, in candy cane pj’s, singing Christmas carols. I just know it.

And I ordered my Christmas cards tonight! I’d post what I worked up, but I wouldn’t want to ruin the awesomeness for anyone. I did the 4×8 non-folding cards this time, and they were something like half price on Vistaprint. Not too shabby, and I order 50 cards. I know; faint! Hopefully that’s actually enough this time around.

I haven’t decided whether tomorrow will still be Chewy Day or not, I may switch it to Friday just for this week… I’ll guess you’ll find out for sure tomorrow. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Tonight I worked almost an hour and a half late. But… for good reason! I stayed to finish a big project so that tomorrow? There’s no need to come into work! FIVE DAYS OFF, Baby! Woo! I think we’re totally going to Four Christmases. That comes out tomorrow, right? (Yes, it does. Thanks google!) We also have The Happening here from Blockbuster Online. Which is something we both really wanted to see! But… just the mention of M. Night Shyamalamadingdong is all we need to recognize that we are NOT going to be happy with the movie, and we should wait and just rent it. Oh, and Speed Racer’s here too. :)

You know what’s confusing? House. I never used to watch it, but Jeff got addicted to Fringe (which is on after House) so I’ve started watching House recently! Well I saw the episode a couple weeks ago where his ex there adopts the baby – almost, but the mother decides to keep her? And… well since then I don’t think they’ve mentioned it at all. I’m sure I missed at least one episode between then and now, but still… It leaves me very confused. That seems like a huge storyline to just drop.

Ok this next picture is Abso-frikkin-lutely hilarious – if you know that Dale was looking up at Chewy on top of the desk, and at exactly the same time the flash went off? There was a huge CRASH! as Chewy knocked basically everything off the top of the desk. Nothing broke luckily, or it probably wouldn’t be as funny. Well maybe it would be… look at Dale’s eyes! I wish I was holding the camera a little farther back, but you get the idea!

Photobucket

Oh shit! Somehow this is going to be blamed on me... I just know it.

And, of course, a blooper:

Photobucket

Wait, I think I blinked!

I don’t understand how people can blog first thing in the morning. I guess I can understand the theory that blogging late at night could leave you rushed and uninspired, but I always wonder how anyone comes up with anything to say in the morning. Nothing has happened! And I, personally, am soooo not a morning person. If I were to blog in the am it would go something like this:

I just woke up. I fucking hate mornings. I wish I could go back to bed, but I have to go to work. Speaking of work, I’m late because I’m sitting on my ass writing this post rather than rushing around getting ready to go.

That would be the entire post. Seriously.

And now if you’ll excuse me, I have a cheesy Christmas movie to watch on ABC Family.

I’m thinking today will be another complaining post kind of day… but maybe only a little bit. First of all, my stomache has been hurting all day. Not like “oh man I shouldn’t have eaten that, now I have a stomache ache!” but like “ouch, it feels like someone punched me in the stomache!” – and I’m pretty sure that never happened. I’d like to think I would remember such a thing? And also, I’m geting a new zit. The one from the other day is mostly gone, though there is a really dry patch in it’s place. The new one is growing right above my mouth, below my nose… in the general “cupids bow” vicinity. Stupid face.

So, uhh… I’m not a fan of Black Friday at all. I’ve never taken part in it (besides working at Ames way back in the day), and the whole idea of getting up that early to deal with crowds (that apparently are very grumpy) just doesn’t appeal to me. But. A friend linked me to this site: Black Friday Ads. And last night the Walmart ad was added… I want EVERYTHING in it! Ok, maybe not everything. But I do want a lot from it. And I’ve developed an unhealthy obsession with looking at the ad. Each time I find something I missed the time before. I’m pathetic, really. I’m still not planning to go out shopping – but who knows. Maybe by Friday I will have convinced myself to give it a go and work up the courage to see if any of those $25 Christmas trees are left! Not at 5:30 am though, no way. The afternoon could be a possibility though. Maybe.

Didya notice the new blog header? I know, it’s awesome. I got out of work an hour early today (since I worked late Monday – gotta keep those hours straight!) and I spent most of that hour stalking Dale and Chewy to get some shots for next week. Hence the new header image… and also these:

Apparently it’s a nose pickin’ kind of day!
And around here we use our tongues for that…

Photobucket Photobucket

Also, it turns out a friend of mine is AWESOME and is sending me some pumpkin bread. So I might not be making mine soon after all! If not I’ll come up with something else to use for my own assignment. I won’t snub it. I promise!

Wednesday night Jeff and I had a “date night”. We went to Target, and bought some flannel sheets that are on super sale! Awesome. Then we went to Applebee’s for dinner. I had a bacon cheddar chicken sandwich… Yum! Applebee’s rocks. Then we went to see Role Models. It’s a good movie! As long as you can stand some crude humor, lots of boobie talk, and even a few boobie shots. I laughed my butt off, I apparently really love nerds – and the kid with the cape? Oh. My. God. He is seriously awesome. After the movie we went to Barnes & Noble real quick, and then to Walmart for some groceries… We didn’t get home until 11:00! But we knocked out a bunch of “chores” along with our date night, so it was worth it.

And yesterday at work? I found out I won a sweatshirt at that Benefits fair! So yeah, that was another drawing, and I won it! Or at least one of “it”.

P.S. My nerd love only applies to movies and television.
