I am currently on hold with my insurance company. It’s pretty exciting. I got a letter saying that something was being denied as it was not medically necessary… I can’t tell you what though because the letter is in Latin, I think. And the insurance company doesn’t seem to think this letter exists; I must just be insane and enjoy these conversations where I’m put on hold every other minute and get to listen to boring facts about how if a pregnant woman has gestational diabetes? Her kid is more likely to be obese. Hey, thanks. Well, at least now I have an excuse. My mom totally did have gestational diabetes when she was carrying me, but that’s besides the point. Actually I don’t think I have much of a point besides this is realllly boring, and I want to go home in two minutes when it’s time for me to go home. But if I’m still on hold? That ain’t gonna happen. And I’m betting that ain’t gonna happen.
UPDATE: I was actually only stuck there about ten minutes extra, that’s not so bad! And I got good news. Originally the claim was going to be denied, because the insurance company thought it should have been an outpatient procedure. So the hospital got all smart and just billed it as an outpatient procedure. I guess they figure it’s better to get most of their money from the insurance company than none of their money from me! So there shouldn’t be any insurance company issues. Sweet!
And? My Christmas cards came today, and they totally rock.
