I just ate a little bit of chicken noodle soup, and so far so good. Of course I literally just ate it, so I guess I wouldn’t know yet if it was problematic.
Also we just went and got my drain thingy removed. Weirdest. Experience. Ever.
I think the lady was in a bad mood, and she kind of took it out on my bandage tapes. I lived through it though. And then she was all “did you take a pain pill already?” And I was like “I took one at about 11.” (It was a little after 3 at that point – and you can take them every 4 hours.) And she was like “Okay, well you can take another one when you get home then.” And ripped the thing out! And it was so weird! Like so insanely weird. I’m pretty sure I felt the hose thingy touch my rib.
Really gross feeling.
Then I asked her about the oxycodone making me nauseous, because my mom told me that when she had it and it made her sick they gave her something for the nausea. And the lady was like “Oh yeah, it’ll do that. I say don’t take it then, just take Advil.” Umm, she had just told me to take a pain pill when I got home? But I wasn’t about to argue, I could seriously tell she was frustrated before she walked into the room. So yeah. I will suffer the nausea and hope I don’t puke again, because that is yucky. And if I still feel like I need to take the pain pills come Monday when I go see the surgeon to get my staples out I will ask him about it.
Then she recovered my staples (because she had removed the bandages to check them out), and was kind of half flipping out that she couldn’t find the band-aids. Ummm, band-aids? So she finally found them, put one on the smallest one with just two staples, and then was like “well these aren’t going to be big enough!” and covered the other two with gauze and tape. Jeff and I were both very confused, we’ve never seen anyone cover staples with a band-aid before. And? It felt weird. So we went to Kinney’s to get our own gauze and tape and fixed that. It was odd. And I feel odd. But I am still alive, and so far still surviving the chicken noodle soup.
