Thoughts on Thanksgiving

Someone told me today that a local place will be having a “Harvest Dinner” this year, instead of a Thanksgiving dinner. Apparently the word Thanksgiving is no longer politically correct. This confuses the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks out of me. It is, in fact, the name of the holiday. Is it not? And what is wrong with giving thanks? I get how some decorations could not be allowed… but the name of the holiday? Whatever.

In other Thanksgiving news… my mom is going camping for Thanksgiving. This means I have to find other accommodations. Luckily I have a father in law now, so I’m betting that won’t be a problem. But still. My mommy’s not going to make me Thanksgiving dinner! That’s just not right.
