Just a little note to let you all know that even though I have been sooo quiet around here lately… soon you will be begging me to shut up. :) Starting November 1st (which is… THURSDAY!) I will hopefully be posting every day for two months straight. First for National Blog Posting Month, and I plan on signing up for Holidailies again this year too. Am I nuts? Probably. But in the meantime I’m staying quiet so hopefully I’ll have some things to say when the time comes. :D

Is October usually this chilly? I know it starts getting colder right around now, but I wasn’t really expecting it to be 38 degrees already! If I was rich I’d have the furnace turned up today, but we go by the “put on a sweatshirt and grab a blanket, you wuss” policy in this house. :) At least until November.

I start my new job Monday! I’m pretty excited. Maybe a tiny bit nervous; I have to learn new people again. That’s always intimidating, but it usually works out pretty well. I actually got a free sweatshirt at my benefits orientation on Tuesday, which has totally come in handy today. I mentioned it’s cold, right? And my free sweatshirt is big and soft and warm. All very excellent qualities in a sweatshirt.

Last night I started painting my dresser! And today I put on a second coat. It looks pretty good, but it will look even better when I paint the drawers and finish it. It was a boring unfinished dresser. Now it’s black. The drawers will be… I don’t really know yet. I’m going to go to my mom’s tomorrow and see what leftover paint colors they have, and maybe just paint the drawers a color. Or maybe I will paint a picture or design. I am very much undecided. But I do want to try and get it done this weekend, so I will be making a decision soon!

The title of this post isn’t 100% accurate, but “Very temporarily semi-voluntarily leisured” seemed a bit too much. :) So about a week ago I found this list of politically correct terminology during an “I’m bored” session, and it turns out I was never unemployed! I was just involuntarily leisured. :) I decided, though, that that sounded like I had been fired, and I didn’t like that – since I have never been. So I switched it up to semi-voluntarily.

I got a job offer yesterday! A pretty good one too, full time, benefits, and only about 6 miles away from home! Woo! I accepted, of course, and just have to wait for my background check to go through before they can let me know when I start. It sounded like it shouldn’t take more than a week to finish that up, so I’m thinking by next Monday I will officially be employed! And on Tuesday I get to go to my benefits orientation… so someone remind me to have Jeff find his benefits explanation thing so that I can compare, okay? Thanks!

I wonder if they saw my top ten post on here and realized I really do need a job? Probably not, you’re right. If you remember number one on that list was how I haven’t been waking up before lunchtime all this last week. And that Tuesday orientation? Is at 9 am. So I am trying to get myself to bed earlier, and trying to learn not to ignore my alarm in the morning. Which is hard, because I’ve kind of always been an alarm ignorer. I managed to get up at about quarter to ten today though, so there’s hope for me. Tomorrow I will shoot for 9.

In other news… I think our microwave died. One of our wedding presents, though, was a really big George Foreman grill, and it came with a toaster oven, I think? I have to check it out. A toaster oven would be better than nothing until we can get a new microwave! Honestly I’m not surprised that the microwave died. It’s kind of super old. Like, we’ve had it for about four or five years, and we got it used from my grandma… I have no idea how long she’d used it before that, but it’s a pretty safe bet that it was quite a while!

1) I have no reason to wake up in the morning. And therefore… I don’t roll out of bed until lunchtime.

2) I have no reason to try to make myself look presentable. And therefore… I stay in my pajamas the whole day. And sometimes skip the whole showering thing.

3) Sitting in front of our computer all day is apparently bad for my back. Sure I did the same thing at work, but apparently those chairs provide proper back support. My lower back is killing me!

4) My dog is driving me insane. In. Out. In. Out. PLEASE!

5) Daytime TV isn’t what it used to be. All I can find that’s sort of worth watching is old Sabrina the Teenage Witch episodes on the Family Channel.

6) I need social interaction. Just some! Talking to yourself is not very becoming. And I may have started doing that.

7)  I either forget to eat, or I snack all day. I need a schedule, apparently. With a set lunch time, and break times. Free reign in the kitchen all day is a bad thing.

8)  I’m actually looking forward to tomorrow’s project. The closet. That’s not really a bad thing, since it needs to be done… but this is very unlike me.

9) My mind doesn’t like to sit still. It likes to plan things, and know what’s happening in the next few days. Right now all it can plan are boring/free things, like closet cleaning.

10) This is the most obvious one. I need to have a paycheck. We should be okay for a little while before I have to take any old job that I can, but… yeah. I definitely do need a paycheck. Student loans and rent wait for no one.

And this is just day two, people!
