I was joking around with my mom today when we were talking about going camping in a couple weeks? And I asked how long the tubing ride thing was usually. And she said “About 3 hours or so.” And I said, “Don’t let me drink any Mt. Dew that day then!”
And she was like “
Why?” And I was like “Because Mt. Dew makes me have to pee a lot?” And she was like “Oh, we just pee in the river.” And I was like “
That is so gross!! Seriously?!” And she was like, “yeah? What else are you supposed to do?” And I was like… “Ummm hold it?!
You actually pee your pants?!” And she was like, “yeah, the water moves and takes it away you know. It’s not like you just sit in it.”
And I was like “
I don’t know about this. The whole time I will be worried that I am in someone else’s pee! And there’s no way I would be able to piss myself. No matter how bad I had to go!”
So I don’t know. I will try to work up the nerve to go? But that is just so gross. I don’t know if I can get past it. Could you do it? Actually piss your pants? What about floating around in water that might possibly be mixed with other people’s … you know.
I went to get my car inspected yesterday. Here in NY you have to have your car inspected every year. I didn’t really think anything would be wrong, at most he might point out that I will probably need new brake pads kinda soon. (The brakes are doing a little bit of sporadic squeaking lately.) But it turns out I need new tires. Like, four of them. That is way lame. But he showed me how the front driver’s side tire is balding in a spot (apparently a belt busticated) and how you can see the white canvas in some spots. Umm… That’s not good! And of course this is at a time when I’m expecting a big check to come… but it seems as though they have decided I don’t need checks. Again. Don’t worry, I will bitch about that on Monday. Anyway, mom offered to pay for the tires until the checks come, but we can’t do that until tomorrow anyway. What with today being Sunday and all.
I was surprised to find out that not all state’s require car inspections! I thought it was a pretty reasonable thing, making sure your brakes work and your tires aren’t going to explode. You know? So, where do you live, and do you have to get your car inspected there?
In other news, my cell phone is dying. It’s time for new ones, we’ve had these since we signed the contract exactly 2 years ago. But in order to re-sign and get new ones I need to get… my check. That’s right! I need my money. That is owed to me. For pretty much everything that is going on now. Odd, isn’t it? Anyway, when the check comes we are going to get fancy new RAZR phones. If they are still cheap. I will be mad if they are not on “sale” anymore by the time I get paid. Seriously. I decided I’m getting a pink one. I think. And Jeff wants blue.
And that’s all I really have to whine about today! Kendra and her husband were moving into their new apartment down the road from us this weekend, I thought. But I figured they would probably call and ask us to come help, and that didn’t happen. So maybe they were moving next weekend? Or maybe they just didn’t need any help.
One of my best friends (Kendra) got married this weekend. It was probably the prettiest and most “them” wedding I have ever been to. No, not probably, it for sure was. It was a beautiful sunny day, we were way up high on a hill in the middle of nowhere with a view that went on for miles, and every little detail was perfectly matched to Kendra and Damien. For lack of a better way to describe them, I shall say they are on the “hippie-ish” side. They love all things Celtic and sun and moon and stars, and they have the cutest little girl ever. I wish I could remember either one of their vows, so I could quote them a little bit here, but the day flew by so fast that no matter how hard I tried -that just wasn’t going to happen. So basically they both said very sweet things, and tons of people cried. But not I! Because I am made of steel. And also I just don’t happen to be the type to cry at weddings, as beautiful and sweet as they may be. And now on to the pictures! (We both know that’s what you’ve been waiting for.)

I finally got a paycheck! Two, actually! They are having some kind of trouble with the system they use to pay meĀ and it doesn’t like my name change (maybe because they put it in with my maiden name – hyphen – my married name… which is not my name at all, and also makes my name in their system… 17 letters long). They finally got it to pay me for two of the three (well, now four) invoices yesterday, and we totally went shopping. After we paid bills, of course. Yesterday was also Jeff’s payday, so it was kind of awesome going from having (at most) $40 in the bank to SKILLIONS OF DOLLARS! Okay, not skillions. But enough to pay every single bill that was here, and have money for gas and groceries, etc. You just can’t appreciate the amazingness until you have spent one entire month on one income, with bills for two. I am just going to be glad it was only one month! Anyway, so we totally went shopping, and it was exciting as all hell. Our cart was so full I could barely turn it! We got:

A fancy new covered litter box for Chewy!
Who is still cute, by the way:

A pretty new blue collar for Dale! (Who has only ever had blue collars, and probably always will! He is just a blue collar kind of dog. PS He thought he was going to get a tummy rub here… and then was pretty sad when it was just another stupid picture.)
A “boot tray”… but we are using it for this instead:

Genius, right?
Jeffy got a ton of new socks:

We got some cleaning things, because every once in a great while? I do actually clean things. But you’re right, not often.

Ant traps! We had an ant problem this time last year too, and these worked. So we got more! Again, yes. We are geniuses.

Groceries, for us, means a lot of beverages… This is our beverage corner.

And we also have a full freezer!

The fridge is pretty well stocked too… but you can’t see that. It might be dirty in there.
We also discovered these:

Which are amazing. But 96 cents for a package with only FIVE kisses! But did I mention amazing?
And… the most fantastic thing in the entire cart…

Finally! I can’t wait to play in the snow with my Sims!
Besides finally getting paid, and buying lots of boring things at Walmart, we have tons of things going on. Or will, soon. This weekend is a nothing is happening weekend, and that is fine by me and my seasons-discovering Sims! But next weekend my friend Kendra is getting married, so we have that. The weekend-ish after that she and Damien are moving. RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD FROM US! I am super excited about that, she has been an hour drive away for the past 2 or 3 years, and now she will be close enough for me to actually WALK to her house! So, there will probably be some helping out going on for the next couple weekends. Then we are going to go camping with my parents, and pretty much everyone they have ever met it sounds like! Including both my sisters, my step-brother, and maybe our friends Teresa and Rex. They still aren’t sure if they can come yet though. After that we are planning on doing a barbecue probably the next weekend, kind of using Kendra and Damien moving down here (and my friend Jamie coming home from Japan finally, she has been there for the last year) as an excuse. After that? I wanted to go to the Great Escape sometime this summer, so if we are going to go this year, that is the only time left at this point. But we might just not go. No big deal, it will be there next year I’m sure!
