I’m still alive! I don’t think I ever really posted about it here, but I had a job that I absolutely hated. I left a good job to go to this job, and then it sucked! I stuck it out for about two months before I quit, and I think that was pretty good. Any longer and I would have lost all semblance of a personality, I swear. So before I quit I made sure I had at least a temporary job I could go to… and I’m now back working at a local college’s print shop (where I interned and then returned for quite a few summers after that) until about the end of August/beginning of September. I have a couple resumes out there, and a few more to send out, so hopefully something will pop up right about the time I’m finishing up at the print shop.

In the meantime I have put together a pretty fantastically beautiful portfolio (or so I think), so that’s pretty cool.  I got it all printed and bound (just a plastic spiral bind, but it looks nice just the same!), but I only got 3 copies. So one for me to keep, one to send with my resume to a job that’s open now, and one for… I don’t know. Maybe one will be for me to keep at home, one will be a take with me on interviews book, and one I will send? That way if anything happens to my take with me book, I have an extra.

So I had two weeks between quitting the one job, and starting back up at the college. And in that time I moved a lot of furniture around, and designated some things as give aways. Exciting right? It’s still kind of a mess in here, but there is more room to move around. We really don’t have enough room here for all of the things that we keep. Oh, and I even found someone to take the give away things! Exciting.

We started making smores in our firebowl on Thursday nights (I have three day weekends this summer, and that’s one of Jeff’s nights off most weeks, so Thursday works). It’s pretty exciting! Smores are amazing. Well, the last two Thursday’s we haven’t actually done it… but I’m still hopefully that we’ll start back up again next week.

You know what else is great? Jeff will have the 4th off! That rocks, because every year I am all “Let’s go here! Let’s do this!” and he is all, “I need to sleep, and no because I have to go to work tonight.” BOO! That is lame. So this year? No excuses. I don’t know if my parents are doing a cookout, but I’m going to ask and leave a little subtle suggestion… If they aren’t we might be able to do our own though. If we can get the thingy we need for our grill (Thingy is the technical term… I have no idea what the piece is actually called).  And then we will go see fireworks! Woo! I haven’t been to the fireworks in forever it seems like, but really it was probably just two years that I missed them. And we have awesome camp chairs we can take with us now, so our bums won’t hurt. Very cool, indeed. Now I just have to decide where I want to go to see the fireworks… Over the lake in Caz? Or down the road at the college? Or… I’m sure there are other places I’m not thinking of.

Anyway, I thought I would check in and let the internet know that I am still alive! Just being a little quiet and boring over here on my end. Have a wonderful weekend!
